My Sketchbook & My Mail Art

#159 - this is the 159th day of my 365.2 Mail Art project.

The quote on the reverse is - "Nothing stands still except in our memory." Philippa Pearce
Card #160 is another of Chuck Scalin's assemblage photos, altered with only the man. I'm almost ready to stop this series for awhile. Almost. Quote on reverse -
"Memory is the diary we all carry with us." Oscar Wilde
#9
I feel fortunate to have discovered this woman in my pile of scraps. She's so lovely.  Story on reverse - Florrie's serene and gentle nature reminded eeryone in Tiny Town that they, too, could feel the same way."

#10 I wasn't sure how the baseball would work. The addition of the shadow on the street helped. I used a soft graphite for the shadow. On the reverse - "The residents of Tiny Town were understandably perturbed by the nearness of a new baseball field."

These low number cards are part of my 365.3 Mail Art project.

The next three images are the cover and two of the double page spreads from my Sketchbook project for the Brooklyn Art Library.

Ooh fun! I signed up to do the sketchbook project a couple of years ago, and never did it. ): such a cool beans thing to do. Can't wait to see yours as you fill your sketchbook!

How did I get into this?

I was asked when I started doing Mailart. Good question. Like many artists, I was making and mailing art without even knowing it had a name ...
