The usual stuff and some funny stuff

#76

#77
Here's a series of table scraps cards with circles.

Our grand-girl added color and put some googly eyes on a fashion model in W magazine. it tickled me SO much. I took a close up photo of the face. and then made this triple portrait. So silly and funny. I laugh every time I look at it. What do you think?

On Friday, I drove over to the museum to attend Zona española and parked between two behemoths. I looked back at my car and was astounded at how tiny my car looked. I had to snap this photo. Doesn't it look like a toy car?

Mail Art, Mustaches, and more

365.2 #353

365.3 #203
I might have to do a few more Mail Art collages with cars as I cut out a bunch from a brochure I got at the car dealer.

Couldn't resist. All is fodder for the collage artist.

I'm really fond of this Egon Schiele little girl. I'd never seen it before. She was perfect for this Mail Art collage.
This morning, I had an early visit from the neighbors, with the announcement that I'd won the best Pet Photo contest with my photo of Bizoo. The pair recited poems for me and sang. Then they played with Bizoo for awhile. I remembered that we hadn't used the paper 'staches for my honey's birthday so I gave them some. They were quite the charmers in them, don't you think.
Here's my actual vehicle. I had to go to the DMV for a duplicate title for my old vehicle and this gave me the opportunity to snap my car not in my garage. It's so tiny, yet roomy inside. I'm happy I got it.

This is the composite that my son made for Zinn's 4th month birth recognition. It's based on a Beetles cover.
Nice for Zinn to have a father who is a designer/artist right?

Here's the Beetles album cover.

Baby Z, Mail Art and more about my new vehicle.

This is Baby Z. Oh My, she holds her head up. Her Mum makes funny noises and she laughs out loud for real. Her Da sent this photo this morning.

Today's Mail Art is about my new Vehicle. I'm making them to send to the guys at the dealership to thank them for making the process easy for me.

They'll be surprised, for sure. Check out the numbers. I'm almost done with 365.2! I've said it before and I'll say it again, ALMOST finished with year 2 of daily Mail Art. Can't wait!

Here are two of the people who made me feel good about buying a car from Richmond Ford.

Can my grin be any bigger?

Here's what I saw at the pool the other morning. These two noodles sharing a chaise, chillin' out beside the pool full of hot water ( 92F/31C .)

Stay cool best way you can, my friends in hot climes. And hydrate!

Baby Z, baby B & Mail Art, of course.

Doesn't Baby Z look like she's shouting out a Rock Song? Yay! She was on her Da's lap swinging on the porch swing and having a great time. She was all giggly. My honey was her destination on each forward swing. What fun.
Baby Bizoo looks good on a striped mat, doesn't he?
He likes lying about on the porch even though it's 90 + degrees out there, IN the shade.
These Washi tape and circle pieces of Mail Art were done on a day when I had to move quickly and get out and about.

Going to those two things as my default never fails me.

I felt like they also were very much about summer and activity. Slow when it was too hot to move fast, then fast when possible.

I printed out some faux postage stamps and punch them out with my special hole punch.

The brown paper is what remained and I loved the way it looked.

These two are from Thursday. They remind me of two things - clowns and apartment buildings. Right?

These two are special. I made them on Friday and they are numbered -
365.2 #350
 and 365.3 #200

These numbers are amazing as I've almost completed my 2nd year of daily Mail Art, and am more than half way through my 3rd year. Yikes!
 These are today's Mail Art.

They represent the big thing that happened today - I got a new car!

I'd been planning to get another car this summer because a) my car has 2 doors, b) my car's a/c has been broken for 2 hot summers c) it was time, the Beetle was 14 years old.

What do I need more doors? Because at some point, Baby Z will get to ride with me and I need easier entry to the back & the future car seat. Why do I need A/C?
Aaagh. It's so hot here in the summer. It's a health hazard!

I had to get a very small car with 4 doors, so I had a limited number to choose from. I got a car that wasn't at the top of my list, and a year that I hadn't thought possible. Do you recognize this car?
The color - violet-gray!

Mail & non-Mail Art +

#23
I'm catching up on all of the Mail Art that I've made so far.

#23 is going to a Mail Artist who is celebration a birthday and like skulls. I found some very tiny skull images that I liked a lot. I hope he enjoys this card.
#24
I'd gotten a few postcards at the Guggenheim, Bilbao, including this one of the interior. We weren't allowed to take any photos inside. I decided to alter the card before I sent it, as it really wasn't all that interesting unless you'd been to the place. I decided that it needed an invasion of postage stamps to make it more lively.
#25

Someone sent me a lovely postcard of a vineyard in the Napa Valley, in California. It was fun to find bits to change the scale. I might add some shadow under the large man to integrate him more into the landscape.
This looks like my Mail Art, but it's not. It won't get mailed anywhere. I made it for the VMFA studio school faculty exhibit. I wanted whatever I put in the show to relate to the workshop that I'm teaching. My honey will frame it for me in a simple black frame, mounted on a cool gray background.
Here's something fun that I did yesterday with a friend. We went to look at cars. She's going to buy a new one. These are her favorites. I think the cream with the brown top and racing stripes might become her's. Don't tell her that I told you.
I loved the way the clouds looked yesterday afternoon. Actually, I like the way clouds look any day, any time.

I shot this through the windshield using my little flip phone. Not bad!

Car-cupine?

Can you believe this? I couldn't! I didn't have my camera so I took a picture with my telephone, just in case it wasn't there when I had my camera. Smitty and I rushed home to get the camera...whew, made it back in time to capture these images. What a visual treat! You can decide what this is all about and let me know what you think.

Here I am, back again after a long hiatus

No explanations as to my hiatus. It's boring. But I'm back. And here's what I've been making. Lots and lots of these. They...
