Lovely hydrangeas in bloom!
For my birthday, I received a tin of sticky googly eyes with the request to document where I place them. Here's the first placement.
Here's Bizoo with a friend! I had a pile of plush toys on the floor, planning to fluff them up in the clothes dryer. Bizoo took one and ran with it! He had such fun, that he tired himself out.
Yesterday, he checked out my de-constructed studio.
Here's our oh so cuter than ever Zinn! Sleeping so peacefully.

And here's another painter that I like - Kandinsky, who is featured in Mona's thoughts. An altered Mona!

I got an inquiry from Chris in Brisbane, Australia, about my circles. Did I use a punch and I do! She was going to try to get one. In the meantime, I decided to send some punched out circles to her. I altered a Max Ernst painting with circles, tucked it in to a sheer envelope with some circles and taped it shut. THEN I remember that I hadn't scanned it. So here it is scanned in envelope and I LIKE the way it looks. The reverse is the address, of course. I hope it gets all the way to Australia okay.
This card was made for Laurance's grandmére in Nancy, France. She said that gram liked to fish as a young woman so fish would be nice. But I thought a rose and an old movie star would be a nice addition. I hope grandmére likes this card.

Oh the sky was lovely the other day. Check out those clouds. We were driving to Portsmouth, and I got this as we were headed to the interstate.

Then I stepped out of the car and the wind was so strong that the flag was totally unfurled!
We had family over on Sunday afternoon for a big dinner to celebrate the Jewish New Year. The food prepared by our niece was scrumptious & our nephew's apple pie YUM. I made my Neat balls and tried a new barbeque sauce recipe from the cookbook Veganomicon. So yummy.
Here is my little plate of cut up apples and honey.
This is the flower arrangement that my honey made in a small glass. He went out to the back garden and cut some greens and a hydrangea blossom. It sure looks professional, doesn't it?

Mail Art & a Mail Art prize!

I decided with this one, #995 to added random text, creating some odd poetry, with random imagery. Somehow, it actually works okay.
This is #996. In reality, the colors are very gaudy and jarring. I didn't like the orange and greeny color so I added the red-violet dot. It toned down a bit.
These last cards, 995 - 1000, will be sent to the people that I sent the very first cards to when I started my 365 project.
This was my big surprise this morning. My honey came up to my studio and said "you have a gift waiting for you on the kitchen table." "Really" I said. He said that he didn't put it there and was very puzzled by who did. Who came into our house, didn't say hello, crept out again, and when I opened the card, I was really surprised. This is from our dear friends, BeeBee & T. who live in Chicago. How did they get it to me? It was on the table, on top of papers that said "one thousand" over and over, with a beautiful card, created by BeeBee. I love Hydrangeas! This one is especially spectacular with BIG petals on the individual flowers in the big bloom. The mystery was solved, N stealthily delivered it. He kept the secret. The plant was delivered to him with the card & inserts, and happily arrived as I was in the midst of completing the last of my 1000 pieces of Mail Art since I started to count on 1 Dec. 2010.

Basil, Sunflowers, and some mail art.
I picked up a big bunch of basil at the farmers' market yesterday and made pesto. I put my recipe here. It turned out really delicious, so green and fresh. I love pesto.
There were beautiful sun flowers at the market, too, but I didn't bring any home.
This is what I brought home, a big hydrangea blossom from a bush that grows in the alleyway around the corner.
This is one of my #211 series that I completed today. Another Baby Leo altered card. I'm going to take the cards that I made today, to my workshop tomorrow, to show the participants how a simple alteration can make a big change.
You can see the other cards by going to the MailArt365 blog and clicking on Mim4art on the right side bar.
