The Girl

In front of a scene.

 I can't remember what artist painted this girl, or the era it was painted in, I can't give credit, which bothers me, but I like her a lot and had fun trying her out with different backgrounds.

I'm still having trouble, after all this time, with my ChromeBook and still regretting my decision to be frugal, and NOT get the Apple laptop. Oh well. The struggle to get images up continues.

Sweater and scarf weather finally arrived. It happens so quickly here. It seems that it's summer, oh so hot, then the next day, swoosh, leaves are falling and the scarves come out. It feels great.

 The Landscape Beautification Project places large art works into the landscape to offer the public an unusual viewing experience.

Sometimes, it's quite disconcerting, such as the Dam project.

At times, the installation presents a monumental headache but so far there have been no fatalities amongst the installers or the viewers.









This project will continue as long as the appropriate images can be secured for specific locations.

Ah, yes, it's definitely been site specific.

"Business" cards

I decided to have some "business" cards made from some of my collages. I had a bunch of the sunglasses series and several of the butterfly hand series on a thumb drive. I took it to a local printer and look what I got!! So fun. The large image is a 4" x 6" postcard. Next time, I'll make a bunch with that image since it's one of my favorites.

I'll take these to Kolaj Fest.  I'm very excited to be going back to New Orleans, and about going to this event. I'm hoping to meet some folks with whom I've exchanged Mailart.

The portrait of me was done by the grandgirl while at home and brought over as a gift. It wasn't from life, but from memory, she said.

This view of the two buildings and the statue are sometimes the best view on my drive to Battery Park. The light hits them just right. I was driving so it was difficult to capture, and a bit dangerous, yes, I know.

New Mail Art collages

Entered in a Mail Art Exhibit

For #14, I wrote something like, the postage stamps fell to earth like blades, causing dismay.
This was an not a natural phenomenon. I sent it to someone in Belgium so I wrote the caption in French.

The freaking looking animal creature, was made for an exhibit about fakes, frauds, or something like that, in New Hampshire.

I amuse myself with these collage Mail Art pieces. Do they make you laugh?

Rubber stamping on an Add and Pass mail art piece.

I've so many other things to put up here but I can't find the images to add them to my blog. This has been a problem since using the Chrome Book. Oh the Mac was so easy, but I was not wanting to spend so much money to replace my old MacBook. Waaa. I opted for a Toshiba Chrome Book, which if you only want to do e-mails and keep documents and do google searches, it just fine. But for other things, I'm just not learning how to do them on this. oh well.

Rubber Stamped Mail Art

Having fun with my rubber stamps again.  I was using these to write my PostcardstoVoters. I felt the need to create some Mail Art using the stamps.

 With this card, I did a not so great job with the two stamp set of the bird. Not a good registration. It's one of the stamps that I got at Le Tampographe Sardon in Paris last October. I have to practice using it more.

The little airplane comes from Le Tampographe, also. I think this one is very effective in terms of the spatial effect of the planes overhead.

These two aren's as successful spatically, I think. And the red stamp pad was falling apart so I got globs of red which over went over with another letter. They're okay but not as successful as the first one. I'll do more of these probably.

What do you think? Should I keep on with the theme? Or play with something else?

More Patterns

 My latest thoughts on these patterns, digital collages, is that I'd like to maybe print them and see how they hold up.

Patterns

I started playing around with the Layout App on my phone for the first time on a flight home from somewhere, maybe Mexico. I was totally taken by the possibilites of making patterns. Collages in a different way, cut and paste in a different way.








Since that first times, I've played around with lots of my images to see how I can change them so that you can either see
what I was working with clearly, or the
original image is so changed you have no
idea what it was.

I've been finding this to be very meditative.

And I was especially happy to see them changed by being enlarged, printed, and hung up along a street in Kathmandu, during the most recent MicroGalleries event.

Sometimes, I think I'd like to create fabrics using these patterns, or wall paper.

What do you think? Other uses for them?
