I'm very excited to report that my CD collage, the one that I was seen putting into the post box, arrived safely in Thessaloniki, Greece after a 2 week journey. Yay for the postal services of both countries. Yay!
This is card #870. I'm going to start on Tiny Town again, using the last of the cards slowly as I'll be so sad to see the series end. This one is about Phoebe checking to see if there was anything new on Main St.
The yard looked like wonderful with the pink blossoms all over it. It smelled so sweet, too.
Now the tree is almost bare of flowers, leaves are poking out, the yard has been swept up three times, as the leaves get slippery and start smelling less than pleasant. BUT oh how pretty when the petals fill the yard at first.
Here's the pie we had for Pi day. I was going to make a lemon pie as Monkey had posted a delicious sounding one, however, I needed to go out for lemons, and I needed to finish a piece of art work. So Papa made the pie and my honey picked it up, and I stayed up until 2 a.m. finished the art work. whew!
Here's a "tile" that I created for a project for a library/s in Florida. My friend Juli sent me the blank. I was so busy turning the tile around looking at it that I ended up working on it with the music upside down!!! I wonder if some eagle-eyed person will notice that.
Monday, I'm taking the train to D.C; a meet-up with someone I've been corresponding with for 10 years and another visit to the National Postal Museum. I think I'll make some mail art while I'm there.

#65s and some New Orleans

I was still feeling the thrill of sewing paper to paper that I had to use stitching rather than adhesive to attache these cards to the map background.

| B is for El Borracho |
I used one of my old state of Texas maps since I thought espanol would work with Texas. I hope that Houstonians aren't offended by El Borracho! Nothing intended by it since I have never been to Houston.
In New Orleans we went to many galleries both in the French Quarter and the Warehouse district (Julia St.) A wonderful surprise was to find that Chris Roberts-Antineau has a gallery on Royal St. I've loved her work ever since I saw it at the Smithsonian craft show in Washington, DC many years ago. It's applique and embroidery. Very complex and very beautiful. Check her out.
This is the wood oven pizza we had at Louisiana Pizza Kitchen our last night in New Orleans. It was sooo good and the Caesar salad had the best dressing on it.
Our server was Kate, from Australia. She was very lively and friendly. We found everyone so friendly and talkative, and happy that we were there. How cool is that!?
If you go to New Orleans, don't miss this little gem of a restaurant. Really, one day, go without cajun food, and get a pizza here.

Hollywood, USA, more eating!
What fun! We got to spend a bit of time with them, pre-wedding hugs and chatting.
We drove over to Beverly Hills (90210) to meet up with cousins C & L for dinner at a hole in the wall (as they described it) pizza place

Food in Brussels

Some food in Brussels.... (yes, I consider chocolate to be food!)
Moules frites Provencales one night in a very touristy area. They come cooked in their own pot. They were delicious and plentiful. As I sometimes do, I took a shaky photo. At a really sweet little café called Wings Tavern behind the central station near the Flanders Design and the Cathedral, we had a lunch on Sunday. I got frites and a gouda cheese sandwich. The sandwich was so big, like a whole baguette, and the plate of frites was huge. Chuck got the special of big meatballs (2) with salad and frites. Such large portions for not very much money.
Monday night, we ate dinner at an Italian restaurant near St. Catherine’s church, close to the Christmas market and big ferris wheel. The place had great ambiance and aroma. I got a pizza with rocket on top. Chuck had farfalle with salmon in a creamy vodka sauce. The photo just didn’t show it off very well. We met up with Annick, whom we’d met at the dance concert the previous night. We had really enjoyable evening with her.
We ate chocolate in Brussels and Bruges, who could avoid that? I took no photos of what we ate because it was just too good to wait…so Chuck took a photo of a nice chocolate display in a window.
Chocolate here is good to look at and better to eat.

Diner last night, Lunch today

Last night, we went to see a wonderful concert at Cite de Musique. I'll be putting some of Chuck's photos of the site on Flickr. We came back into our neighborhood and realized that we were hungry. It was 11:30 p.m. We decided to get carry out pizza from Pizza Momo. It was delicious.
Today, for a late lunch, I brought in a piece of asparagus and avacodo tarte for Chuck and I to share. For dessert, a roulade with tiny chocolate chips and pistacchio paste. Doesn't it look like an escargot?

A weekend trip.
We drove up the coast to NJ, where I reserved a room in a posh hotel for a not-posh price on-line. This is the weekend we celebrate Ryan's 7th birthday and visit with Mica.
The view from the window is pretty geometric! With some imagining, one could think Egypt?! (pyramids?) Nah! I'm just tired! The restaurant was very interesting, with a large glass "tree" in the middle. Check out this cup and saucer design.
Friday night, we went to a small pizza place in NYC for dinner
which reminded me of Paris, well, sort of. We had a delicious pizza. No photo because I was too busy eating to take a picture. More photos of what we've been doing here, after we return home.
