Last week, I was away from home for a few days with my Mail Art traveling kit. I took a few things with me - some circles, some black paper, a butterfly.

I picked up a brochure while away and cut little figures out of it. Perfect for Mail Art, right?

Some action going on here.  A pet sphere going out for a walk?

Nice striped dress!
My favorite thing, making - creating the illusion of transparency. Upper left.  What do you think?

I had this face in my kit, from a brochure I got at VMFA. Did I make it a bit mysterious?

Here's mi corazon. Yesterday, she was in my studio, staying cool, cause we've got A/C. She took out a bunch of my old rubber stamps and made some art for me. She made paths and connections, she told me. She had a lot of fun and even used my date stamp when I told her what it was.

Getting ready

#993
I'm back to my Tiny Town shenanigans. I found this wonderful sad dog in a 1962 magazine. He's perfect! Here's my story on the reverse: "Tiny Town residents liked dogs with sad eyes; however, training them to move about carefully was difficult." Notice how the little person is looking up at the dog (whom I named Étienne) whose paw is soooo close to her.
We preparing for a short trip and I've cleaned out my travel kit, added new bits, dots, glue, and card blanks, but NO scissors as I'm doing all carry-on luggage. I'll be looking for scissors on the other end or just tearing paper. I'm prepared for several days.
The air was cool, the pool water warm, and the sky a bit overcast, and exercising was quite nice.

my travel kit, revamped and mail art

I'm taking a brief trip, so revamped my travel kit to only a few items, and the pre-stamped, pre-addressed postcard blanks. Hopefully, I'll find fun scraps to use for the design.
Tiny Town had some visitors actually step into the street. The residents were fearful that this little girl might not mind her feet.
This Irish dancer was quite careful and mindful, so the residents enjoyed the dance.
This page is from a 1965 McCall's magazine. The girl scout outfit is the same one I wore, several years earlier I must admit in the name of honest disclosure. I always liked paper dolls and would even make my own.  Did you ever make them?

It's August already!!!

The summer is half way over, and glad about it. It's been so hot here and we look forward to cooler days.  I'm writing writing this...
