I made a few altered postcards recently to send off to specific people and one was a result of a prompt during October http://creativesprint.co  I'm posting my Mitts because I just re-opened my Etsy shop http://FritziMim.etsy.com  Which came about because I can't sell my mitts in-person during the pandemic at the usual holiday "shops." My honey suggested I re-open and it's been quite fun to see that people are actually buying stuff from it. Yay commerce, yay my compulsion to knit.

Circles - a few circles to alter something

 I've had this postcard of a Picasso sculpture for awhile. Finally, couldn't resist altering it. What was at hand on my studio table, circles, of course.

 The sky/water series above were created by adding circles to some photographs that a friend gave me. It's rare to have an actual photo to work on these days, right?
I never have any of mine printed. I post to Instagram, or a blog, or Facebook, and that's it.

Working on top of the photos required my Pioneer brand glue stick to get a good adhesion to the surface. We'll see how they do going through the postal services.

Here's Bizoo on his favorite cushion, which I happened to be using in this chair. Soon as I got up, he went for it. So happy!




This is a sticker collage that Z made recently. I have to scrounge around on my work table to find new stickers for her. I'm giving up Cavallini stickers even! She loves doing this and I love watching her compose the composition. She likes to layer the stickers and she doesn't care about right side up or down. I want to emulate what she does.

Is it too much to bear?

 Cards #352 through #355 use stamps themes.  Some with random letters some with text.

 Cards #356 through #359 are altered cards using vintage Kitties (printed in Germany from a flea market) to create narratives.

I wish I could have grouped these cards differently, like in a grid, but Blogger doesn't allow much control or else I haven't figured out how to do it in all these years.

Hope these weren't too much at once. I seem to be blogging less frequently. Hmmm.

These next three are for my 365.3 Mail Art project - an altered Picasso postcard, an owl hanging out in an architectural setting with an altered window, and a mother and child from a 1956 National Geographic Magazine in recognition of International Women's Day.

















These are the cards Wednesday through Friday of this week. It's already late on Saturday and I've not scanned my cards for the day. I just finished making them, running late today because I've been busy finishing up some knitting, while watching episodes of Firefly on DVD. A very relaxing Saturday!

My African violets are so gorgeous right now. That green plant in the foreground is my miniature rose bush. I don't see any more buds on it, but I'm hoping for another little rose eventually. I am liking these flowering plants very much.

I like the round format of altered CDs. I'm not sure these are actually making it through the postal system as I haven't heard back from any recipients. I hope they are cause I really like them and want them to go "naked" into the world. However, if I find out that they aren't getting to the destinations, I'll use an envelope. What do you think? Envelope? Maybe one with a window cut out in the middle?

Mail Art plus other stuff

 Here is all of the Halloween treats we had left over. It was a dark and rainy night, thus, few little folks at the door. Our favorite little neighbors came by while it was still light out and got special treats. They looked great and I forgot to take photos of them, darn it!

 This is mail art that I received from my friend, Dean, in Paris. He's the wildest Mailer. Part of a computer? and a map of Paris, and on the reverse a song about our upcoming trip to Paris to the tune of "Start Spreading the News."  What fun!

 I have to show this to you! We just got the photos from our great-niece's wedding yesterday and if you look really closely, you'll see me in the back there, co-officiating with the pastor!!! How cool was that?!

 Yesterday's mail art was a very simple alteration of three of the cards I got on sale at VMFA, left over from the big Picasso exhibit. I added 1960 bird stickers. That's all, just a bird or two. This is the #335 series. I entitled it "Paul's costume came complete with a live bird."

 This piece I called "They run with birds."

I'm very fond of this painting of Olga. I've titled this one "Olga's red bird tried to cheer her up."
I have a few more of these cards, so you might see some more alterations of them. Which one do you like best? What other things might I do with them? Any ideas for me. I'm at the home stretch for the 365 project! This is the last month, I can't believe it.

Rainy day look at the Elflog

We've finally had some rain, what a relief; the shelf had stones and a Picasso "birds" magnet on it, looking cheerful in the mistyness of the morning yesterday. The leaves have started to fall off the trees but there is still a lot of green going on.
