Good Grief! A month has gone by?

 What a busy month it's been.

I was knitting lots and lots in preparation for a pop-up shop, making finger-less gloves, giving myself some sort of on-the-job wrist stress!

But it all worked out well, as my Etsy shop is empty, the pop-up shop sale was a success, but I still have a few pairs mitts at NEST! Stop by there if you're in RVA.

Mail Art still happening, too.  #210 has a throw-back look, doesn't it. I'm making lots more using the prints made for both C's and my pages from the Artist Coloring book. Fun to alter, as I've said before.

 I made my "Peace" cards again this season. Adding swashes of Inktense color to them.

I numbered them but didn't scan them individually except for this one. So far this year, while not doing a piece of Mail Art daily, I managed to make over 250 pieces, with a few more to come. My experiences with my 365 projects has made my practice of getting into my studio such a normal part of my life. There's no question that I'll go in daily and make something, even if it's not Mail Art.

We celebrated one night of Chanukah with friends, at Perly's Deli. We enjoyed a little carafe of bubbly, and a whole lot of delish food. If you're in our neighborhood, go there and eat!

We were delighted by our grand's delight at all the candles. Our niece & nephew hosted their annual gathering with many candles and excellent latkes.

It's been a wonderful year, full of lots of enjoyable experiences. How lucky we are and we know it!

A gray day - let's look at Mail Art & more

 These are the 2 cards that I made over the weekend. I think I'm going to take a break from the craft background. It's a very gray day today and I think I need some COLOR!

This is Humphrey Bogart, in case you don't recognize him. I wrote a quote on this about keeping your eyes open or you'll miss things. It's a quote from Dr. Seuss. What a guy, Seuss! 

 Here's my honey holding up the "A" that I gave him for his project. I give him grades on projects, he wants that. I always give him an "A" cause he always does "A" work. Trust me, this man does "A" work!  This particular "A" is very special. It was created by Leah Palmer Priess. You can see her work here. She is an amazing illustrator. I saw her work on A Word A Day again recently and remembered how much I like her work. I was able to purchase the "A" in her Etsy shop, here.

My honey was very pleased about his grade.

 We got a packet of presents from our friends BeeBee (aka anonymous) and her honey Tom. They were nicely wrapped then tied with ribbons. Who can let a good ribbon go to waste? Not me!

 I tied the ribbons on our candle holders and bird in the kitchen. They look so festive! Actually, the ribbon gives the bird a lot of personality, don't you think?

Yesterday, I had a taste for lasagne. I had all the ingredients for this one. I made up the recipe from a couple of more complicated ones. I wanted simple and fast. I put the recipe on my recipe blog, here.
It turned out deliciously good. Try it and let me know how you like it.

#165 series & more garden photos

 I'm playing with Washi tape for these pieces of Mail Art. I had cut out a lot of words from magazine recently and these fit nicely within the tape spaces.

 I like the way the tape is somewhat transparent.

 My honey is experimenting with lighting. These candles might go around the big drain. The grate hasn't been put in place yet, but when it does, we can put potted plants on that, (Ns suggestion.) Meanwhile, we had a HUGE rain storm last night and the drain is now a little pond. Oh boy. We need someone to come tomorrow and clear the pipe.

These are the plantings that went into the ground yesterday. The workers were here all day finishing up little details, still a bit more to do. I think today is the last day. I can't wait to take final photos.  The inaugural party is next Saturday, followed by another big one in July. Woo Hoo, party city on the patio. I'm already thinking "fire pot" for the fall for cool weather parties.

NYC memories of the weekend.

Lots of candles at El Diablo Royale in the West Village and excellent Mexican food. We had a good cup of coffee and a honey sweetened muffin at a shop by Washington Square on Saturday morning. We popped into a nice little place on west 10th, a glass of bubbly, a view of the rainy street, cozy us enjoying being together.
