In the July 23 NY Times book review section, Henry Alford wrote an essay about the books people keep in their bathrooms. I thought I'd share images of my current collections. Do you have a bathroom library? What's on the shelf?
I was asked when I started doing Mailart. Good question. Like many artists, I was making and mailing art without even knowing it had a name ...

Wow, you have quite a library in the library (as my dad calls it)! In ours we just have 1000 Places to Visit Before You Die and a bunch of magazines: NYer, Harpers, Zymurgy, BizWeek (free from work), Money (my dad sends it to me, I figure if I put it in the loo I might read it and learn something, but I always pick out a different one).
wow....i feel so pedestrian, i have no books whatsoever in my bathroom! of course, what little room there is is stuffed to the gills as storage - no easy feat considering you must enter and exit sideways.
the stairwell is always teeming with the most interesting literary combinations, however, in the grand tradition of recycling ny style.
