A puzzle!

A number of years ago, one of my brothers-in-law designed some badges for a now defunct project. He has lots and lots of these badges but doesn't know what to do with them.  My sister would like to sell them, but who'd buy them, I mean there are LOTS of them? So here's what I thought, maybe I can ask you, dear readers, for some ideas that I could share with them about what they might do with these, or who might want them, and then I'll have my random chooser, choose someone to receive a set of these. Just like this, 3 sizes. Maybe it'd be like a merit badge you get for solving the puzzle of what to do with lots and lots of puzzle piece badges. Wanna give it some thought?

Hi! so I was thinking, since you are an amazing mail artist, something like a million ( or however many badges you have) anonymous post cards to brighten a strangers day. With the patch and a simple message about how they are an important piece of the puzzle...of life.

"Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle."
Lewis Carroll
or
"There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle."
Deepak Chopra
or
“Man is a piece of the universe made alive”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
or
“Your life is a piece of clay, don't let anyone else mold it for you.”

okay, there's my suggestion for the day!

Good Luck!

wow! I sure like what JW had to say. I think they'd make great collograph materials...they're embroidered, right? Think of their wonderful texture...pretty cool. I'd like to get a set and sew them on some garment. They're really neat.

This came from a friend of mine and I thought it's worth posting here. Thanks, Toby, "i'm not a gmailer or a blogspotter, so i couldn't comment on your post (enjoying the mailers, by the way) but my first thought was that the puzzle piece is similar enough to the richmond children's museum logo that they might be interested in them. of course the embellishment opportunities with them are endless - suspenders, cloth belts, guitar straps, straps of any kind, really. take 24 of them, dye half another color and it's a checkers set. stitch together for coasters and doilies.

also, i found a band called the puzzle pieces, who are on facebook here http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Puzzl"

How did I get into this?

I was asked when I started doing Mailart. Good question. Like many artists, I was making and mailing art without even knowing it had a name ...
